ライカは驚異的な開発力があることから、カメラを事業として製品をつくる場合にライバル企業に研究されつくされ模倣をされた。

主要ターゲットになったのが、「1945年のライカ IIIc」であり、その完成形モデルである「ライカ IIIf  ブラックシンクロ」をベンチマークとされた。

1945年初期のIIIfは、黒い数字の刻印から通称 「ブラックシンクロ」 と呼ばれた。また、1954年後期のIIIfは、赤色にマイナーチェンジされていることから、通称「レッドシンクロ」と呼ばれた。

レッドシンクロにおいては、シンクロの効率を高め、シャッターの幕速の高速化が図られている。設計の変更点で、最大の機能向上である。

スクリューマウント型 ライカの最終とも言える希少なモデルである。

国内中古市場では約 60,000～70,000円、それもジャンク品でこの価格である。
